Martin Musinguzi
Musinguzi Martin is the founder of the firm, and serves as Principal Attorney. Having become a lawyer in Rwanda and completed an LLM from Harvard Law School, he knew immigration law was his calling the time he realized he was going to study at an American law school. He immediately enrolled in the Harvard Law Refugee and Immigration Clinic (HIRC) classes and proceeded to log outstanding pro-bono hours at the clinic.
Upon graduation, he volunteered to stay on with the HIRC’s affiliate – Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) working two years in the Immigration Department and focused on working asylum and deportation relief cases and has never looked back.
Born and raised in Uganda, Martin has over the years travelled and lived in most of East Africa including Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania. He’s fluent in English, French, Swahili and several other African dialects.
While at Harvard Law he represented his class in Harvard Law Student Government and the Harvard African Law Association. In Rwanda, he championed an Access to Justice project for the indigent, and continues his passion for the disadvantaged.
Martin, though licensed to practiced law in New York State, maintains MLG’s main offices in Uptown Charlotte, NC and recently opened a satellite office in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Area.
